Church News

We are part of the Benefice of Buckrose Carrs which contains nine churches in villages along the A-64 in North Yorkshire between Malton and Scarborough. Our home church is St Hilda's in Sherburn.  Revd. Joe Kinsella is our incumbent and regularly leads worship in our school. We are also supported by Sherburn Methodist Chapel weekly in worship.

Spiritual Garden

Thank you to all the local businesses who supported the creation of our garden. Without your kind and very generous donations this reflective area of space in school would not have been possible.

Other News

For Harvest Festival celebration we donated food items to the Ryedale Foodbank.

We also worked with our local churches on the Operation Christmas Child Samaritan's Purse Project. Children donated gifts for children less fortunate than themselves.

Our Christian Values

Spring term 1

Trust is the basis of all stable relationships, including a person's relationship with God. It is rooted in the truth and will grow through consistent experiences of reliability and integrity.

The church celebrates Candlemas on February 2nd, which marks the end of Epiphany. The feast commemorates the presentation of Jesus in the temple.

Ash Wednesday and Lent

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Traditionally, ash was created by buring the pervious year's palm crosses: Lent lasts for 40 days from Ash Wednesday to the Holy Saturday and symbolises the days Jesus spent fasting and preparing in the desert. It is a time of preparation for Easter.
